Presentation Function of DMAI

The 65th Annual General Meeting and Awards Presentation function of the Dyestuffs Manufacturers’ Association of India (DMAI) was held on Friday, the 3rd July 2015 at Hotel Sea Princess, Juhu Tara Road, Santacruz (W), Mumbai.

Shri Surjit Kumar Chaudhary, Secretary, Dept.of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, GOI was the Chief Guest. More than 100 members of the Association, special invitees, guests & other dignitaries and Press attended the meeting.

Business Session started with a welcome address by President Shri Janak Mehta. Hon.Secretary Shri Jitendra Patel presented the Annual Report for the year 2014-2015 and highlighted the various activities of the Association. 1st Vice President Shri C.K. Singhania presented the Audited Income & Expenditure A/C for the year 2014-2015 and Balance Sheet as on 31-3-2015. He summarized the highlights of the financial statements.

Open Session was anchored by Imm. Past President, Shri Ram Ajekar. President Shri Janak Mehta in his welcome address succinctly mentioned about the various pressing problems the colorant industry is facing and requested the concerned authorities to look into the matter for possible solution for the sustained growth of the industry.

Annual Awards for excellent performances from the industry for 2014-2015 and toppers from the Dyestuff Technology Dept., Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai for 2013-2014 were thereafter presented.

In his address, Shri Surjit Kumar Chaudhary cited about a few instances, which harmed the environment and led to human losses. He, however, dealt with a few positives as well. (Detailed Press Release is published elsewhere in this issue)
