ISSPA President's Page: Hoping for a strong, vibrant and stable Government

Excerpt: Though the raw material prices, especially those dependent on crude, have seen some upswing, in recent times, market sentiments remain stable, and business has been steady.

Hello & Greetings to all readers of PaintIndia,

The Festival of Democracy, which comes to our Nation every five years, is a long drawn out and continuing process, and every adult is celebrating it, as per the dates allotted by the ECI.

In these times of acrimonious and bitter fight between political parties and heavy weights, to gain supremacy and control of such a big nation as India, we the common people, are busy, either retaining the existing GDP rates, or trying to better them in our quest to achieve greater good for ourselves.

Having said that, I am at times surprised to find FDI inflows still continuing while the markets remain jittery, in these uncertain times.

Though the raw material prices, especially those dependent on crude, have seen some upswing, in recent times, market sentiments remain stable, and business has been steady. This, in spite of the fact, that the automotive sector, as well as the manufacturing sector, is facing a downtrend.

There is going to be a shift of guard, at all regions of ISSPA, and accordingly, I have set the ball rolling. The new committees of the regions will soon come out with their Chairmen/Chairperson, and other office bearers. This should be announced in the Annual meetings of each region.

This is also the season of results being declared for the 12th & 10th standards.

I, in my capacity of President of ISSPA and also, in my individual capacity, wish all my young friends, best of luck. Many will aspire to be Doctors and Engineers. But there will also be those, who will opt for courses which leads them towards Surface Coating. To all those who choose to opt for any course, which brings them nearer to us, I welcome them with open arms. We need bright and energetic minds to take up this very challenging career and propel our industry to a new dimension and to greater heights.

In this context it is heartening to note that the gross expenditure on R & D in India has tripled in the last decade to nearly 1 lakh crore in 2016-17 and this may bring cheer to many.

I once again reiterate, as we the Nation, go to polls, I hope to God, that sense prevails amongst the Indian citizens, to elect a strong, vibrant and stable Government at the Center.

Jai Hind.
