Texplosion focuses on Textile Dyes & Chemicals used in processing

JAY Chemical Industries Limited (JCIL), always believes to build the future of our industry by bridging the gap between Industry and Academics. As an initiative JCIL supported the 19Th edition of TEXPLOSION, a national level Technical symposium of Department of Textile Technology, Alagappa College of Technology, Anna University. The event was held on 5th – 6th March 2019, in Anna University, Chennai. The event served as an opportunity for students to present their innovative & path-breaking ideas in the field of Textile & Apparel thereby instigating scientific temper in the minds of the students.

Dr. Subramanian Head of the department, Dr. N.Selvakumar, Professor, Dr. VR Giridev & Dr. Renuka Devi, Faculty coordinator gave a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Mr. N.Dharmaprakash, Head of Textile Auxiliaries, JCIL and the participants of the event. Mr. N.Dharmaprakash gave an overview of this industry needs and addressed on the different textile chemical processing areas where industry is looking for better sustainable solutions from Universities and students as Sustainable & commercially viable solutions are the need of the hour. As a part of the symposium event, JCIL team, Mr. Rajesh Tendulkar (Head- Textile finishing), Mr. N.Dharmaprakash, Ms. Monisha Boopathi (Brand Manager) & Department of Textile Technology, AC Tech, Anna University organized an Internship sponsored workshop on “Technical session on Textile Dyes & Chemicals used in processing”. Around 120 students from different reputed Textile colleges across India participated in the workshop. This workshop highlighted on the Scenario of Indian Textile processing market, Dyes & chemicals used in pretreatment, Dyeing and finishing helping the young mind connect with the Industry. The workshop also highlighted on the different opportunities for young graduates to pursue career in the Textile processing field. Collaborative initiative between Industries and Academics can yield better future for transforming the Textile Industry.
