DCW resumes its PVC plant production after unplanned shutdown

India's DCW resumes back its production of 128,000 mt/year PVC plant in Sahupuram, Tamil Nadu, past week following an unplanned shutdown late May. Due to the unplanned shutdown of the DCW’s PVC plant, India's imports for PVC has increased since then, with imports reported at $960-$970/mt CFR India this week.

DCW was forced to close the operations of the plant last month because of a workers' strike in a nearby factory that turned violent, leading to the closure of the road that leads to the DCW plant. The company was not able to receive vinyl chloride monomer feedstock due to the road closure, said the reports.
