Lots of sweeping changes are being proposed by all ministries in the Modi 2.0. All ministries are visibly charged up as the PMO hit the ground running immediately after taking over. With all numbers pointing towards major problems with the Indian economy, a growth-oriented budget, with some stimulus for the industries hit hard by the slow down, is expected in July which may give some boost to the dull sentiment.

Auto industry is going through one of its worst periods in recent history recording a negative growth of nearly 20%, construction activity has slowed down as demand for homes shows no signs of revival, monsoon is expected to play spoilsport for the agriculture sector as sowing is down, most NBFC's are facing financial strain on loan repayments & interest payments. There is an all-round slowdown in the economy.

Environmental issues are coming to the forefront and concerns are being raised at the way these issues are being handled by various governments worldwide. The discussions on ozone layer depletion, shortage of drinking water, depletion of water tables throughout the world are taking center stages at the highest forums. Water shortage even grabbed the attention of our Honorable Prime Minister in his latest Mann Ki Baat broadcast to the nation. High pollution levels, shortages of water in our cities and drought like situation in rural belts is a cause for major concern. It's time that we as an Industry take up the challenges and help in controlling Air & Water pollution levels and also take up conservation of water at all levels. As often rightly said that the battles of the 21st century will be not about oil but about water, the most abundant resource available on the planet, but still usable water is in short supply.
