BASF wins awards from Indian Chemical Council for Environment, Health and Safety standards
Mumbai, India – October 16, 2019 – BASF India Limited has received two awards from the Indian Chemical Council (ICC), recognizing the company’s commitment and outstanding performance in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS). At the event held in Mumbai on September 27, BASF was awarded the “ICC 2018 Aditya Birla Award for Best Responsible Care Committed Company” and “ICC Award 2018 for Best Nicer Globe User Company”. Additionally, two drivers of logistics service providers engaged by BASF were judged as “Best Drivers” and awarded the Nicer Globe “Best Driver Award 2018” for their safety record of zero non-conformances and zero accidents in 2018.

Tokyo, Japan – October 30, 2019 – In line with its strategy to fuel the future of footwear with winning material solutions, BASF introduces Elastopan® polyurethane for the midsole of Mizuno’s new training footwear – TC-01 and TC-02. The high-performance material solution enables Mizuno’s ‘Center of Balance’ (COB) technology that accurately transmits information to the soles of the feet through activation bumps molded into the surface of the midsole. The training shoes TC-01 and TC-02, made with BASF’s PU materials, were developed to pursue improved balancing capabilities, and in turn, advance athletic performance.

R&D Award for Catalyst Designed to meet the Latest Emission Regulations

The R&D Council of New Jersey recognized BASF inventors with the Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award for outstanding environmental contributions. The team of researchers developed a novel diesel oxidation catalyst design which utilizes less precious metal, while significantly improving performance. Diesel oxidation catalysts for heavy duty diesel engine emission reduction are required to remove hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide from the exhaust. At the same time, the catalysts provide additional functionality to facilitate removal of soot and nitrogen oxides by the downstream soot filter and selective catalytic reduction catalyst.
